He was born in Lisbon in june of 1989. He studied Economy, Statistics and ended up working in IT. Loves to play the drums, to travel and to play padel but his biggest passion is photography. He has visited as many countries as the years that he has lived. Occasionally writes in the third-person.
To me photography is everywhere. It as always been. It’s impossible to think about it without relating it with my trips though – where the camera’s lens sees the things for the first time and so do we.
I had this curiosity since early because my father works at TAP. Thanks to that I traveled a lot and my curiosity to see live the images on my atlas and encyclopedias grew.
When I visited New York, with 14 years old, my only demand when shopping was a digital camera.
From those times on, and since the cellphones started having better cameras, I kept religiously every single photo that I took. Today I have a huge database and a backup of it, just in case. Because of that my friends frequently ask me for photos taken years ago because they know that I keep all of them.
When I travel I like to collect less obvious souvenirs to decorate my house. But nothing satisfy me as much as the photo albums that I make.
I am also fascinated by devices of Lomography that allow us to have photo effects without needing editorial work, such as the lens fisheye.
However, it’s getting harder to understand and admire the work of a good photographer. We all have a tool able to make wonders and we think that there’s no need to have a professional photographer. But a photographer’s work is very meticulous, requires research and allow us to learn how to see the same thing through different perspectives. If we want to with just a button we have a world of possibilities to explore.
