A few time ago I have written an article about TOP 5 TECH TRENDS FOR 2018. One of the most remarkable trends is VR and AR. Today I am going to talk about some marketing campaigns that used this technology.
1. Volvo
Volvo XC90's launch campaign invited everyone to be inside of the XC90 through virtual reality glasses and a cellphone. Using weekend getaway as a theme, people could enjoy a beautiful view while driving the vehicle.
2. HBO
HBO used Oculus Rift to transport people to Westeros of Game of Thrones. On this simulation they could feel how it would be to climb the ice wall with 200 meters height on the Night’s Watch.
3. Pingo Doce
The portuguese supermarket Pingo Doce launched a marketing campaign called Super Animals that uses VR and AR so that people can interact with the animals.
4. Top Gear
BBC started exploring AR to change the way how they make their contents available.
Besides reading Top Gear’s Magazine, fans have access to special contents on their cellphone or tablet.
5. Coca-Cola e WWF
On the opening of the event Artic Home Campaign on the London Science Museum it was exhibited an experiment of Augmented reality with polar bears. An awareness campaign was launched by Coca-cola and WWF.
